Every Day is Halloween #88 1/2: The Official Newsletter of Lisa Morton
Hi All!
I know you’re used to seeing my newsletters show up on the first of each month, but I’ve got some pieces of timely news that I wanted to share right away, so I hope you’ll pardon this mid-month intrusion in your inbox, and thanks as always for reading!

NEWS STUFF #1
I’ve got not one but TWO new books that have just gone live for pre-order. The first is Spine Tinglers, a collection of short-short stories culled from my podcast of the same name (videos of the podcasts will soon be available to see here), but instead of having just about a dozen stories (the number that actually wound up getting recorded), this book has 35 stories, meaning most have never been recorded or published! The book garnered some great advance raves from writers Linda Addison and Leslie S. Klinger, X-Files star Dean Haglund, and director Philippe Mora, and if you pre-order directly from the publisher your copy will not only be signed, it will come with a fun spine-shaped pen!
NEWS STUFF #2
My novella Placerita, co-written with John Palisano, is now available for pre-order from Cemetery Dance. We had so much fun writing this - it’s set in Southern California in 1928, when the St. Francis Dam disaster (a real-life event) wrought havoc…and (not a real-life event) revealed some long-held dark secrets. Placerita includes characters drawn from actual history, including the architect of L.A.’s water system William Mulholland, the legendary evangelist Aimee Semple McPherson, and the notorious cult leader May Otis Blackburn.
NEWS STUFF #3
Dead Detectives Society, which includes my story “The World is a Secret,” is now available in audiobook form (and is currently sitting at #1 in its slot at Amazon!).
NEWS STUFF #4
The e-book of my 2022 novella “Halloween Beyond - The Talking-board,” part of the Halloween Beyond: Piercing the Veil novella anthology (alongside Lucy A. Snyder and Kate Maruyama), will be on sale for just 99 cents from May 20 to May 27th.
NEWS STUFF #5
I’ll be doing a presentation on “How to Hunt Ghosts” at the Midsummer Scream convention in Long Beach on Saturday, July 27, at 12:00 noon. Midsummer Scream is always one of my favorite events of the year, so I recommend checking the whole con out (where else can you shop a massive vendors’ room AND check out live mini-haunts?).
THAT’S ALL, FOLKS!
Thanks as always for hanging out with me. Look for the regular newsletter to return on June 1.
That's a LOTTA GREAT STUFF!!! (And the short-short cover is SOOOOO COOL!!!)
