Happy Jason Day!
And a new book...
Yo, Final Girls Everywhere…
Because I’m tired of not being one of the cool kids who has books to sell at in-person events, I decided to self-publish a new collection of Halloween/Samhain/Dia de los Muertos stories. In the Shadow of Halloween gathers thirteen short stories, one novelette, and one novella - all previously published but never collected - into one 200-page volume, with a glorious Lynne Hansen cover! I hope to have an official pre-order link soon.
I hope to unleash this beast on April 18, just in time for the LA Times Festival of Books at USC. I’ll be there on April 19 from 12 pm to 1 pm, selling and signing print copies at the Horror Writers Association’s booth.
A week before that - on Sunday, April 12th - I’ll be moderating a virtual panel as part of The BookFest: “When Scares are Real: Writing Spooky Non-fiction” will include panelists Vince A. Liaguno, John Palisano, and Loren Rhoads, talking about creating horror non-fiction books, memoirs, monthly columns, and articles.
And tomorrow, Sunday 3/14, I’ll be at the Vintage Paperback Show in Glendale, with a 1 pm signing slot.
As for today, I wish you the best of luck in avoiding masked killers with sharp or blunt instruments.

You did a great job with this book, Lisa!
I am REALLY looking forward to this!! Someday I WILL retire and I will spend at least part of every day of September and October just reading ghost/horror stories. This will be a treasured addition.
